In Girlguiding Manchester we have a great track record of recognising the achievements of our volunteers. There are a number of awards that can be presented to volunteers to celebrate their contribution to guiding.
We want to extend the national awards available with our own “Manchester Marvels” award as a way of saying “Thank you”.
Who can be a Manchester Marvel?
Everyone knows one!! It’s someone:
- – who has stepped up to keep a unit at another venue going during illness or other absence
- – who has taken on an extra role to help another unit or their district or division
- – who has helped to organise an outing or event for another unit
- – who has helped a unit, district or division (e.g. regularly doing the shopping for a unit or keeping the accounts) or
- – who has quietly supported you behind the scenes
- We want to hear all about them and say thank you.
We really want to know about those people who don’t normally get the recognition they deserve.
The Manchester Marvels Award open to any volunteer or supporter who supports Girlguiding Manchester. Nominations can be made by any Girlguiding member.
There are no specific requirements so it could be made for a one off contribution or for something done over a period of time.
To nominate someone you can either fill in this simple form or if you prefer just email [email protected] and a member of the Awards Committee will arrange a time to call you to get the details.
Members of the Awards Committee will review the nomination and make a decision in 3 weeks and then contact you to arrange to make the presentation.
